Functions & Events
Twofold Bistro Brewery is a function venue at 196 Parnell Road, Auckland. We host groups from 8 to 150 people for corporate events, milestone birthdays, wedding receptions, work dinners, leaving parties and private venue hires. Snacks menus start at $12 per person and our multi-course Chef’s Selection menus start at $45pp. For most spaces there is no venue hire fee and no minimum spend when a food option is selected. Function enquiries can be sent through the Function Enquiry form.

The Lounge
Cocktail Lounge, Oyster Lounge, Beer Lounge. Call it what you will - this space is great for small functions of 8-14 people and is located right next to the bar. It gets great afternoon and evening sun all year round, and a window can be raised for a nice sheltered patio environment.

The Sunroom
The Sunroom is our semi-private dining room at the front of the restaurant. We say semi-private because while sliding doors to the room can close you off from the public, the room is encased in windows. The upside is great natural light throughout the day! This room works best for groups of 16 - 24 for dining focused functions like long lunches, corporate dinners, birthday parties and group dining.

The Bar
The Bar is the most versatile function space at Twofold, great for groups from 12 to 80 people. Many of the tables are bar leaner height with stools which makes this space great for casual drink functions, and much of the furniture is modular and can be rearranged to suit your group’s size and function style. This room can be used for anything from drinks and canapes to multi-course meals.

Raised Seating Area
Great for meals for up to 16 and drinks for up to 20, the Raised Seating Area is a couple of steps off the floor and gives you a view of the venue and brewery as you relax on the large leather horseshoe sofa style seating that makes up the space.
It is also close to our TV, making it a great option for a private viewing party for sporting events.

Twofold hosts function groups of 8 to 120 people indoors at our Parnell venue, with capacity for up to 160 people for larger events or wedding receptions when indoor and outdoor seating are combined. We have five distinct function spaces, and the right one depends on your group size and event style.

The space we recommend depends on group size and the style of event:
The Lounge — 8 to 14 people. Cocktail-lounge feel right next to the bar, with a window that raises for a sheltered patio vibe. Best for intimate work lunches and small celebrations.
The Sunroom — 16 to 24 people for dining. Semi-private dining room with sliding doors and floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light. A wall-mounted frame TV makes it ideal for corporate dinners, presentations and long lunches.
The Bar — 12 to 80 people. Our most versatile function space, with modular, bar-leaner-height furniture we rearrange to suit your group. Has its own bar. Ideal for milestone birthdays, work parties, networking and large dinner bookings.
Raised Seating Area — meals for up to 16, drinks for up to 20. Leather horseshoe sofa seating with a brewery view and a TV nearby, perfect for corporate dinners, private sports viewing parties and casual group drinks.
Full Venue Hire — up to 150 people indoor + outdoor. Full exclusivity for wedding receptions, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and launch events.

The Bar Area is semi-private. We close off the space for your group, but our kitchen and restrooms sit at the back of the venue, so staff and other guests still pass through. We've successfully hosted birthdays with speeches and presentations in this setup. If you need full exclusivity, choose Full Venue Hire.

Absolutely! Drop in anytime during opening hours, or message us to set up a dedicated time. Visiting in person is the fastest way to choose the right space, and we recommend it for any booking over 30 people.
Spaces & Capacity

Twofold offers four standard set-menu options for functions, plus bespoke menus on request:
Snacks Menu - $20 per person. Selection of popular bar snacks, casual service. Kid-friendly and a reliable crowd-pleaser. (A lighter $12 per person option is available for some events.)
Canapes Menu - $25 per person. Canape-style bites staggered throughout the evening.
2-Course Chef's Selection - $45 per person. Starters and mains, sharing style.
4-Course Chef's Selection - $60 per person. Snacks, starters, mains and dessert. Menu changes seasonally.
Add fresh shucked oysters to start, or work with us on a bespoke menu built from our main menu - roughly $50 per person for snacks, starters and mains.

Always! Guests can order anything from the main menu in addition to the snacks, canapes or set-menu option you've booked. This works well if some guests want something more substantial than snacks or canapes, or if they would like to add oysters to start, or extra sides to their mains.

Yes, every menu can be adapted for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free guests. We ask for final dietary requirements 7 Days before the event so the kitchen can plan accordingly.

Yes. Our cakeage fee is $5 per person (capped at $20), which covers storing the cake, bringing it out on cue, and slicing and plating if needed.
FOOD OPTIONS

We offer three flexible options for managing function drinks:
Open tab: guests order what they like, we close the tab at the end of the event.
Drink tokens: physical tokens you hand out to guests, ideal for "welcome drink" or "2 drinks included" formats. Prevents one or two enthusiastic guests from using up the entire tab.
Drinks subsidy: for example, "$10 Beer & Wine" for guests, with the remainder of each drink ($3–$6 typically) going onto your tab. This must be organised 7 Days in advance.

Yes, we can print a custom "Beer, Wine & Spritz" list (or any subset of our drinks menu) just for your event. This is common for corporate events and weddings where the host wants to control selection.
DRINK OPTIONS
Pricing, Fees & Minimum Spends

For most function spaces at Twofold - The Lounge, The Sunroom, The Bar and the Raised Seating Area - there are no venue hire fees and no minimum spend when a food option is selected. Full Venue Hire is the exception, and is quoted based on date and event.

Full Venue Hire gives you exclusive use of the entire venue, and pricing depends on the date, time, number of people and food option selected.

For larger birthdays where we reserve an entire area (typically The Bar Area), the standard minimum spend is around $65 per person. There is no separate venue hire fee for these bookings.

The fastest way to start is the Function Enquiry form on the Functions page. Include your date, start time, group size, preferred spaces and a short note about the event style. We reply the same day in most cases.

We confirm availability, recommend a space for your group size, share food options and any applicable fees, and pencil in the date while you decide. Once you're ready, we send a secure confirmation link to lock the booking in.

A pencilled booking is a soft hold for 72 hours. We're holding the date and space provisionally, no charge has been made, and the booking is not yet confirmed. If another enquiry comes in for the same slot we'll check back with you before letting it go. After 72 hours we’ll consider the date available again.

To move from pencilled to confirmed we require a pre-authorisation equal to 20% of the anticipated food spend (for example, 20 guests × $60pp Chef’s Selection Menu × 20% = $240). You'll receive a secure link from our booking system to complete this.

No. The pre-authorisation is not an immediate charge or hold. It's permission for us to charge that card and amount only if you cancel within 14 days of the event or fail to show. In every other case no charge is made.

For Full Venue Hire, deposit terms and payment schedules are set out in your individual quote and discussed before booking.

Full Venue Hire - absolutely. Otherwise, maybe. This will depend on the day, time, and playlist. As long as the content isn't too explicit (other guests elsewhere in the venue may also hear it during semi-private bookings), we’ll consider it.

Yes! Twofold has access to DJs and can arrange one as part of your event, particularly for wedding receptions, milestone birthdays and Full Venue Hire events.

Yes. The Sunroom has a wall-mounted frame TV ideal for presentations, slideshows and logo displays. The Bar Area has an 85” frame TV that works great for presentations to the Raised Seating Area and Bar Area. The Full Venue Hire includes access to both frame TVs and a high-end sound system.

Yes. We have 2 microphones available for speeches, toasts and presentations. This works best for Full Venue Hire events, however circumstances may allow for use of the microphone(s) with a Bar Area hire. Let us know in advance and we'll have it set up, tested and ready to go.

Yes. Corporate functions are one of our most common bookings. Beyond set menus and canapes, we can build bespoke corporate experiences including brewery tours, guided beer tastings led by our Certified Cicerone, and even karaoke nights.

Yes, 21st birthdays are popular at Twofold. The Bar Area works particularly well, the Snacks ($20pp) or Canapes ($25pp) menus are usually the right fit, and we'll help you plan tabs, cake, speeches, dietary requirements and any other details. Did we mention the #twofoldboot

Yes. Under Full Venue Hire, Twofold seats up to 150 across indoor and outdoor areas, with access to DJs, photographers, a working brewery, two frame TVs, a high-end sound system, and Boots. We'll work with you end-to-end on the plan, supplier coordination and timeline.

The Boot is Twofold's signature shared-drinking vessel, a fun group ritual for milestones. It's especially popular at 21sts, engagements, wedding receptions and big birthdays. And Tuesday afternoons.

Yes, within reason. Our licence ends at 1am and we require all patrons to have left by this point. We've happily extended functions into the night when events are going well. Mention this during the planning process - ultimately “last call” will be decided by the manager on the night.

Yes, many function bookings include children. The Snacks Menu is kid-friendly and our spaces are family-welcoming. Minors must be supervised by a legal parent or guardian after 9pm.
Common Concerns

Tell us your group size, event style (sit-down dinner vs. standing drinks vs. casual snacks), and any must-haves (privacy, presentation TV, sunlight, weather backup). We'll recommend a space. You're welcome to visit in person before committing.

That's expected. We confirm final numbers and dietary requirements with you one week before your event. Small changes either side are normal.

Most function spaces at Twofold are indoor or covered, and we plan an indoor backup for any outdoor seating. We'll walk you through the contingency in the lead-up to your event. However the most people we can fit inside is 120.

You can cancel any time up to 14 days before your event with no charge. Inside 14 days the pre-authorisation (20% of anticipated food spend) may be charged. Full Venue Hire follows the same rules based on your pre-authorisation.
